Attilio’s Tavern offers authentic Italian home-cooking at its finest. We believe that real Italian cooking is about more than just the food it is about the experience. For Italian Americans growing up in the 1940’s and 50’s, it was customary to have a big dinner, with several courses, including “macaroni with gravy” every Sunday. During those dinners you could always count on great food, passionate conversations, and a lot of laughter and happiness.

Attilio Benaquista, the namesake behind Attilio’s Tavern, had an unending enthusiasm for cooking and used his skills in the kitchen to bring the people he loved together for a special meal.

In addition to his passion for food and his talent in the kitchen, Attilio had an incredible ear for music. After dinner, as was customary in many Italian households, everyone would gather around Attilio and his guitar to sing Italian songs while sipping on a cocktail or a glass of wine. Many times the music and the singing would encourage family members to get up and dance around, even though there was no dance floor. When the singing was over, everyone would embrace one another, say their goodbyes and return to their homes. And that, is how Sunday dinner ended.

As a tribute to Attilio Benequista and as a way to offer our customers that same “Sunday Dinner” experience, vintage music and classic live entertainment is the perfect compliment to recreating that special moment in time.

Attilio’s Tavern is a place where the food is freshly prepared and you are always treated like family. So, come on in, take a step back in time and celebrate life!
